Stephen Harrison Feinberg

About

Hi! I’m Stephen Feinberg, a designer at a firm called Arcollab (Architectural Collaborative) in Athens, GA.

Originally from Atlanta, GA and by way of the Bay Area in California, I attended the University of Oregon where I earned a three-year Master of Architecture degree, graduating in spring 2021.

I am most interested in the intersection between human-focused universal design, and sustainable high-performance buildings. I graduated from the University of Georgia in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in sociology, which informs my interest in the capacity of architecture to improve people’s lives - to simply and elegantly instill dignity, community, and spatial delight in the places I design for the people who use them. Further, I focused the majority of my architectural studies on high-performance buildings, with an eye toward minimizing the impact that architecture makes on our changing climate. I recently became a Certified Passive House Consultant (CPHC) through the Passive House Institute US (PHIUS), which gives me the technical tools to design super efficient spaces. After graduating from the UO, I made the cross-country journey back to my home state, returning to Athens to start my architectural career.

Outside of architecture, I love playing music and going to concerts! I have played guitar for 15+ years, and more recently have picked up the mandolin as my next project - see below for a video of me playing one of my favorite songs! I enjoy cooking and baking, and am always on the hunt for my next favorite recipe. I also love getting into the outdoors as much as possible, whether that be through long weekend cycle tours, running the Athens, GA Half Marathon every year for the last 11 years, or simply going for a stroll in the Historic Boulevard District in Athens.
